Kate obtained her certificate as an Approved Veterinary Assistant in 2012. She has worked her way up to becoming a veterinary technician and is currently attending classes to become certified. She has worked in veterinary practices for over 5 years and comes with experience working in pet hotels and animal shelters prior to her assistant and technician experience. Kate has worked alongside oncology and integrative medicine patients for over 2 years and has completed the Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine (TCVM) for Veterinary Technicians course at the Chi Institute, in Reddick, Florida in June 2017.
Kate chose the veterinary field due to her compassionate nature to help pets in need. She enjoys working in an integrative practice due to the peaceful setting and loves watching clients learn a more natural approach to healthcare for their pets and themselves. When Kate has free time she enjoys spending it at the beach, walking her 2 terriers Roxie and Buster, playing with her Caique parrot named Paco, and spending time with friends and family.
Alex graduated from the University of California in Santa Barbara with a Bachelor’s in Zoology. She also comes with experience working as a veterinary technician at general veterinary hospitals, the most recent one located in Miami. Having lived in Argentina while growing up, Alex is also fluent in Spanish, which came in handy during her two years in Miami. She loves working with Dr. Pope due to the calming and positive environment of the practice as well as the focus that is put on making patients feel better. She has only been with us for a short while, but looks forward to learning more about integrative diets and herbal supplementation.
When Alex is not working at the practice, she enjoys spending quality time with her husband and her little yorkie-poo, Zoe.
